"Why Merge?" - new strategy seminar download

This week's podcast seminar, "Why Merge?", discusses the pros and cons (mostly cons) of trying to achieve strategic benefit through mergers.

This seminar includes:

  • Menu, Bulk, Dots, Alchemy & Crisis: the five types of professional company mergers
  • Client-centric merger strategies
  • Four-point checklist for a successful merger

My Business Masterclass audio seminars are always downloadable at no cost. You can download Why Merge? or or sign up to receive new seminars automatically every week by subscribing to my Business Masterclass series with iTunes or other podcast players. (Click here for step-by-step instructions on how to subscribe.)

Given all the merger activity that DOES take place, my skeptical views about the benefits of mergers in professional businesses seem to be out of step with what's going on out there. What am I missing?

I just don't like when bigger and more powerful companies  merge with lesser known companies in order to overtake their resources and knowhow.

When you view only the negetive side to a merge it seems "evil." Yet if you think outside the box and broaden your horizon you will see that there is some economic good in merging. It creates more possibly better jobs. It may raise the production rate, highering the countries GDP and if companies are succefull in merging than it will better cash flow ultimatly bettering the economy.

Blog Archive

As my blog has grown extensively over the past year, I've created a new dynamic blog archive for those of you who may be looking to dig through the earlier discussions.

Due to the ever-expanding nature of the conversation here, I’ve created this indexing system to help those of you that may be looking for earlier conversations. Click on any of the four main topics below to see their subcategories, and click the subcategories to see the relevant blog posts. Click here or on the x in the top corner at any point to return to the main blog page.

This is a beta version of the interface, and we plan to develop a more refined catgorization scheme but thought this early version would be useful.
